Weekend Warriors

This past weekend had some exciting things going on and here is just a quick glimpse at the highlights.

On Friday evening it was nice to see the former stakes finalist, Kb's Next Level, show off some superior form. She bolted to the early lead in her race and keep command throughout to win easily in a speedy 30.32 second clocking.

Bl Punch N Judy left nothing to chance either. She beat the box and took down a tough field on the front end which included Orange Park superstar Ru Tuff Enuf. Although it was a slim win, she still shows them she can win without the one box.

Veteran Dirty Picture didn't disappoint in his race at all. He did it is a little bit different fashion though as he broke close, stalked throughout, and closed hard in the final few strides to get up for the win.

Only one thing needs to be said about Saturday Matinee and that would be THE COUNT CONTINUES ON! Count Ivan stretched his current win streak to 4 races in a row and 5 in his last 6 starts. What is even more impressive is that for the second race in a row he came from behind to get up at the wire for the win. That takes him to 30 on the year and 49 in his career.

Saturday evening the spot play came thru as La's Lucy won her very first 660 yard race. She has been begging for a long time to go this far and make the most of it. It was also quite a good evening for DQ has they took home wins in 6 of the 15 races on the card.

Sunday came and DQ continued to run hot. Puppy Miss Romy won again easily and makes it to grade B unscathed. La's Anthony took home another win too with a box to wire trip around the oval. This was his second in a row. Recent Stakes finalist, Cjc's Buckshot, posted up the effort of the day though. He cruised to win by almost 7 in the fastest time on the card. And as always watch for spot plays! Kiowa Guv Water was close enough to the rail to win again and move back to grade A in the last race on the card.
