Almost a Track Record

Once again the James E O'donnell kennel is flirting with the track record. Currently they hold the record with Kiowa Swizzle, but on Monday evening another greyhound got in on the action.

Hallo Mitch, who has just recently returned to live racing, broke from the 8 box and left the field in his wake in the 10th race on the card. Within a few strides he was clear on the lead and from that point on it just got ugly! He increased his lead with each and every step in this race and crossed the finish line 9 lengths clear of his next closest competitor. And the time? Well it was 30.19 seconds which is just .07, or 1 length, off of the current mark of 30.12 seconds.

James E. O'donnell, Jr., W Bk, M, 01/20/07, FLYING PENSKE - SOL SASSY

This win was Mitch's 3rd in his last 4 efforts since returning from a 2 month layoff. Things are looking up and this effort was a career best, and remember there is plenty of time for more wins as Mitch won't be 3 years old until the end of January!

Good luck in the future!
