Raiders Bart Trying to Find IT

Friday - 10/15/2010

Another weekend here at the Orange Park Kennel Club and another opportunity to watch some fantastic greyhound compete for wins in our feature races.

Whatever you like, we have go you covered with some 550 yards and 660 yard races. We have some up and comers, and some cagey veterans. We have some good early speed greyhounds, and come big time closers. We have some other great things too notice too like greyhounds returning to their old distances, greyhounds that are one win streaks, and greyhounds that are looking to find that magic once again.

So get ready for another exciting weekend of World Class Greyhound racing her at the Orange Park Kennel Club, and HAPPY READING!

Feature race one is the 15th and final race on the card for Friday evening over 660 yards.

1. Holly Noelle (Cricket Express - Solitary Camile) has won three races in a row and two from this post positions. Everything is going for her again, can she keep it up, and dominate? We'll see.

2. Hallo Wonder Boy (Dodgem By Design - Mohican Milla) is a huge closer that is back over the right distance again. He loves run from the rail and will make the most of this post tonight.

3. La's Lucy (Get Over - Ruby Is The Best) is back off an extended rest & back over 660 yards. She was the one to beat in the Orange Park Derby. On fresh legs, this field better be prepared.

4. Lady Gator (Get Over - Rooftop Flojo) is as fast as she wants to be, but has to be close early on in order to WANT to run. From the lead she is tough, but getting there might be a problem.

5. Hallo My Pear (Hallo West Acre - Kiowa Chil Cavel) is an early speed greyhound over 660 yards and he has not been breaking as of late. He has the skills, he just needs to use them if he wants a chance.

6. Kiowa Trent Tam (Trent Lee - Kay V Barbierie) finished out of the quiniela for the first time in 10 races in her last start. She won 7 of those efforts. Expect her to return to form tonight.

7. Kanuka (Fuzzys Cannon - Well Chosen) is strong early speed greyhound that needs to turn out a better effort in grade A this time out. Short in the stretch, she needs to steal a ton early on.

8. Wp's Lonesumdove (Lonesome Cry - Fuzzys Spider) is coming off a win in her last race, but the competition is harder here. Posted well, she must break her best in this effort.

In this race the queen gets back on track. Kiowa Trent Tam will not put up back to back clunkers no matter the post position. Granted she might not be in the early lead in this effort, but she is going to do whatever she needs to do it get it done tonight. Look for her to rebound in a big way with a big bold effort in this race. Second let's look at the posted up, streaking greyhound, Holly Noelle. She is extra tough on, or near, the lead and that is where she has been as of late. If she wants to keep the drive alive, she needs to come out running again. La's Lucy might just be the sleeper in this race. She can really run the route and has won numerous races over 660 yards. She is rested and ready to fire in this effort and once in front, they are not going to catch her. If she clears close, this is going to be some race to watch. Hallo Wonder Boy gets the last look as the best closer in the field. He loves the rail and starts out from the 2 box. He can run down almost anyone late and all he can to do is get room. If both the 1 and the 3 decide to break, he will have the whole rail to himself early on. Winning might be a stretch, but challenging late won't be. (6-1-3-2)

Saturday - 10/16/2010

The third feature races will take place on Saturday evening in the last race on the card, the 15th.

1. Backatcha (Joe Hearns - Nikki Di) post will be the biggest problem for her in this race. She is wide and this is the 1 box. She needs to forget that last effort & find her break again tonight.

2. Hs Babe (Flying Stanley - Kiowa Brownsugar) is back in grade A hot off a win in her last effort. Early speed is the key to her success along with the rail posts. If she puts it together, watch out.

3. Kiowa Vincent (Flying Hydrogen - Greg Kiowa Girl) has been running tough as of late and looks to keep it going in this effort. An even runner is what she is, so a big break is needed in this one.

4. Kiowa Top Design (Dodgem By Design - Flying Acme) was the one to beat for a while, but he has fallen off of that pedestal. If he wants to get back, he must find a way to be closer early on.

5. Orion Lee (Trent Lee - Hurry Hannah) has speed to burn from the box and turned that into back to back wins. He is streaking now and is the one to beat here if he continues to break.

6. Tipsy Marcus W (Tipsy Character - Jetstar Streaker) is coming back to the top grade with a bold win in his last effort. A closer by nature, he can break on occasion too, he will need it all against these.

7. Gs Tee Up (Afleet Alex - Gm's Pechykeen) is as fast as anyone in this race, he just needs some running room to use it to his advantage. Look for him to make amends for that last trip around the oval.

8. Cjc's Buckshot (Pacific Mile* - Gable Ruth) has always been a good closer and is starting to run like he used to. He gets a good post away from the crowd and could parlay that into an upset in this effort.

No matter how you look at this race, Orion Lee has to be the one to catch and beat. This greyhound has been firing on all cylinders and even though he can be short in the stretch, he has held on late in back to back efforts to win. He has what to takes to get there and will survive on the late lead again for the hat trick. Kiowa Top Design might not be as sharp as he was a month or so ago, but he is still a top notch greyhound at the racetrack. He has a good break, a solid rush, and has never been caught from behind in any race. If he were to get the lead at some point in this effort, the race it over. Gs Tee Up is still just a puppy and is learning more and more in each and every start. What he already knows is that he is just as fast as anyone in this race and can easily win it if the chips fall in his favor. He just needs to learn how to stack the deck against some of the better fields. He can start by coming out closer and staying out of trouble. If he accomplishes both in this race, he could be the one to beat. Cjc's Buckshot might not be a threat to win, but you have to respect his closing ability. This greyhound never gives up and just keeps coming, and coming, and coming, and coming in each and every start. He will give everything he has throughout in this effort and from this outside post, he might just get room to do it. If he can clear close enough, he will factor at the finish line with the leaders. Saturday - 10/16/2010

Race two of feature events on the weekend comes our way on Saturday matinee in the 11th.

1. Kiowa Kind Gel (Flying Penske - Kiowa Oneofakind) is all about putting a hurtin on fields early on and the one box will aide her in this effort. If she can steal enough, it could be upset time.

2. Mw Springer (Lewis And Wax - Mw's April Rain) has really found a groove as of late and has even been winning some races. From a favorable inside post, he will find a way to challenge.

3. Scottish Dreamer (Droppys Vieri - Crystal Chrysler) has been tearing up the racetrack, but this is grade A and the rules change. If she wants to run with the big boys and girls, she must break fast.

4. Kiowa Kay Share (Solitary Runner - Sol Happy) is clearly the fastest greyhound in this race, and all she needs is room to take home a win. She can do it on the lead or from off the pace. Field, you have been warned.

5. Hanks Dancequeen (Maryville Rumble* - Dance of Dreams) has had a couple of rough trips in a row, but don't let that fool you. She can go with the best of them. She just needs a break today.

6. Smokin Az Becket (Team Record* - Ptl Linda) might have missed her break last time, but she will get back to it today. This solid grade A racer, had back to back wins. If she finds it, she could get there again.

7. Deerfield Cheer (Flying Penske - Solitary Flyer) is a solid top grade runner that draws a good starting box in this effort. All he needs to do is come out close and he will be in the thick of things late.

8. Cayenne Carmagea (Dodgem By Design - Cayenne Jet) has all kinds of gears, but prefers the inside part of the racetrack. The post is the biggest hurdle, if she gets by that, she might have a chance.

Speed is the key to winning any race and the fastest of the fast in this one is Kiowa Kay Share. This greyhound can do it all. She can win from the front. She can win from off the pace. She can win with or without trouble in any race. She has all the tools she needs to get it done and with the extra room at the break with the empty box next to her, she does whatever she needs to do to win. Mw Springer gets a chance at the top spot here to will some spirited runs in his recent starts. He has been breaking better and has been a force throughout all of those efforts. From a good inside post he looks to keep it going, and he just might in this effort. Smokin Az Becket had won 2 starts in a row in grade A, but missed her break and ran into big time trouble in her last effort. Against a talented field, she needs to get back to what got her here, HER BREAK! If she comes out close, she will factor for the duration of this effort. Last but not least is Kiowa Kind Gel. I know her lines might not show it, but she is quick, quick, quick from the box when she wants to be. She has stolen a lead on several fields, and from the 1 box, she might just be able to pull the rabbit out of the hat. If she can steal enough early on in this matinee race, she too has an outside shot at the win. (4-2-6-1)

Sunday - 10/17/2010

Capping off the weekend we head to the 7th race on the card for Sunday matinee.

1. Cheyenne Rascal (Kiowa Mon Manny - Payday Robin) is a whole different greyhound from the rail & proved that again in his last race. Can the magic last in grade A? Tune in to see.

2. Rays Finishline (My Judge - Ivyona Star) is finally starting to run like he did when he first got here. He is breaking better and has been showing some good late speed! The ship is righting, get on board!

3. La's Gigi (Be Discrete - La's Felisha) is a tough competitor when she uses her early speed to get close in races. Without it her effort is not the same, so a big break in needed today.

4. Really Gonnarock (Afleet Alex - Xtreme Hustler) is a solid grade A greyhound that gives his all in each and every start. From the front, or from off the pace, he will be a factor again in this effort.

5. Black Licorice (Heart Rumble* - Spicy Candy) his effort all depends on whether he can get outside without any trouble. If he does, he will close an run tough, if he finds trouble, forgetaboutit.

6. Hallo Honey Bea (Lonesome Cry - Kay Casino Queen) has shown some late speed in the past, but will need to break if she wants to contend here. This could be a long day for her.

7. Sir Oliver (Hallo West Acre - Granpas Princess) is just a puppy, but he has shown some good skills so far at OP. He runs his best when close to the lead, so a big early effort will be required.

8. Raiders Bart (Dodgem By Design - Raiders Azeri) has been running OK, but is far better than his lines show. The 8 box might just get him loose on the lead today, and if he does, game over.

In this race it's all about class. Raiders Bart has that edge on the rest of the field. He has won more races than anyone else here and knows how to get things done from the lead and from off the pace. He has a solid rush, and when clear, he can dominate his competitors. From the outside he will have a clean trip to the turn and that is just what he needs to get his confidence back with a winning effort. Really Gonnarock has to be the biggest challenge to the leader. He has great closing speed and has won back to back efforts in grade A just 3 starts ago. The post might be a bit tricky for him here, but if he breaks at all it shouldn't matter much. Early on he might just be absent, but in the stretch everyone better be watching out for him. Rays Finishline looks to be getting back on track at the Orange Park Kennel Club. It's good to see that competitive fire resurface and for him to put it to good use. He has back to back big races under his belt and looks to make it three contentions in a row. If he keeps up the good work, he could be right in the thick of things in this race. La's Gigi gets a looks just because she can hit the lid on occasion. If she decides that she wants to go early today, she will be a force to be reckoned with on the front end. Everyone will be chasing her, and as he all know, speed holds better in the daytime starts. If she can steal enough early, and get some help behind her, it might just be time for a longshot to win. (8-4-2-3)
