She is drawn in for Saturday Matinee in the 3rd race in the 2 box.
Watch her and cheer her on as every start in the money benefits adoption!

Afleet Red Returns
After a long layoff the Afleet Red is back on the racetrack and looking stronger than ever.
Breaking from the four box, in the 7th schooling race on the card for Monday Evening September 27th, Red dove to the rail early and ran into trouble right out of the box. This tough little cookie didn't let that bother her at all. She just kept moving inside and took advantage of the extra space on the rail. As the field entered the backside, she took over command of this race and cruised on to the wire alone to win by almost 7 lengths.

If you don't know the story of Afleet Red, where have you been? Just kidding, she was donated by Lester Raines to be raffled off for Greyhounds As Pets of Northeast Florida. She raised almost $10,000 for adoption and with each and every start she finishes in the money, Lester donated another 15% to GAP.
Join me and wishing good luck to this tough little girl who will be trying to climb the ladder and join her littermates in grade A, and to once again thank Lester Raines, Deborah Strickland, and Mike Gerard for their support of greyhound adoption.
Eds Budby Setting Racetrack on Fire
No matter what distance you are running, you have to respect Eds Budby. Ok, so I know that he is a better 660 yard greyhound that he is in sprints, but trust me when I say that over either distance, he is special.
Eds Budby is having a great year here at the Orange Park Kennel Club and it all started out with this impressive run thru this year's Orange Park Derby.
Winning three of the four qualifying rounds, and finishing second in another, Budby was the leader in points for the Derby heading into the finals , but still was not the favorite at post time. Boy did he get his point across in the finals though. There he broke close to the lead and then proceeded to drive off the lure from the field as he crossed the finish line nine lengths clear of the competition in a speedy 37.38 second clocking.
He won a couple more races at the distance before moving to sprints right before the Jacksonville Sprint Classic. In his warm up race at 550 he demolished a field and posted up a quick 30.39 second run in his 4 length victory. The cards were not in his favor in the stakes though as he closed well late, but was too far behind early on to make it past the quarter finals.
No issues for him though as he jumped right back to 660, and right back to winning. Putting on a show and proving that his stakes title was no fluke, Budby ran sixteen races in a row in the trifecta, including ten victories, with win streaks of five and four races in a row.
Next he took a much deserved rest over the month of July and came back on a mission. This time around he was ready for the sprint stakes and was going to leave his mark on it.
Winning the first round in box to wire fashion, Budby had come to run and with a pair seconds and a third place finish in his next three rounds, he easily found a spot into the finals. Against this talented field, Budby had a ton of hurdles to overcome to be effective. He loves the rail, he drew the 8 box. He has good late speed, he was in with some big time breakers and rushers. So most counted him out, but Budby believed in himself. From the outside he broke well, rushed to the rail and gave a came chase all the way to the wire for a second place effort just one length off of the winner.
Finally he had proven that he can be a threat at either distance and with that being said, he moved right back to his best distance at the racetrack, 660 yards, and since he has been undefeated.
In four starts over the route, Budby has been untouched and unchallenged. He has rushed close early and really has raced off alone to win those starts. During this span he has won by an average margin of six lengths.
His biggest statement came two races back where he had to run against Kiowa Trent Tam , who was riding high on a four race win streak, and he not only won, he won by eight and a half lengths.
No more stakes opportunities left for the big dog this year at either distance but I'm sure he is going to keep on trucking over the added course and preparing himself for the 2011 Orange Park Derby which starts in late January.
For the year he has a record of 49/24-8-5-3, and has only finished out of the money on nine occasions. His stakes starts are even better with a record of 12/5-4-1-1. Against the best the racetrack had to offer up, he has finished out of the money only once.
So join with me and congratulate kennel owner, greyhound owner, and trainer, Mike Crowe for all of his efforts and the continued success of this tremendous greyhound.

Eds Budby Tearing it up over 660
Friday - 9/24/2010
We have got the hottest things going over both distances right now at the Orange Park Kennel Club in action this weekend.
How about a 4 races winner at the 550 yard course? Interested? Well, what about a stakes winner with 3 straight over 660? More interested? Saving the most interesting for last, what about a couple of spot plays and some opportunities to make some cash? Got your attention now?
If so, look no further than the weekend feature races at the Orange Park Kennel Club.
Up first is the ultra hot 4 race winner in the 11th on the card for Friday Evening.
1. Kiowa New Design (Dodgem By Design - Flying Acme) is coming off a rest and her lines don't look great, but don't be fooled. Posted up well, she could contend if she gets out of the box.
2. Jamboree Frankie (My John Q - Slingshot Misty) needs to rebound in this effort. Tough time last time out, but before that she was an early speed force. Look for a return trip to contention.
3. Raiders Bart (Dodgem By Design - Raiders Azeri) was in the stakes final and finally got back to winning in his last effort. When he breaks he is almost unbeatable, and tonight he is close enough to the rail.
4. Rays Finishline (My Judge - Ivyona Star) back at the short course and back on his game. Two starts, two in the money finishes. If he decides to come out running, he could be upset minded.
5. Willing Effort (Dodgem By Design - Ww Ellen's Time) is the big ? in this effort. She is as fast as she wants to be, but she wants no part of the 5 box in any race. Breaking will be the key for her.
6. Ru Tuff Enuf (Let's Winendine - Faith Keeper) might not be the greyhound that he once was, but he can still post up a number or two on occasion. All he has to do is see the clean air up front.
7. Wp's Clinton (Fuzzys Cannon - M's Countess Amy) has all the tools needed to win this race, but he has to want to put them all together. From the from or from behind he could win, but will he?
8. Kiowa Top Design (Dodgem By Design - Flying Acme) might not have won the stakes, but is making up for it now. With 4 straight he is the one to beat. If he hits the lid again, he wins as he has never been run down in any effort.
Easy picking in this effort! Kiowa Top Design! Plain and simple, he has the best early speed in this race and once in front he will be long gone early on. He has won 4 races in a row all on the front end and has stopped the clock in the mid 30.50s in each of those efforts. No one else here as even been close, oh and did i mention that he is clear of the field outside too? Now I did! This race is his to lose. Raiders Bart might be the only true competition for him in this effort. Bart has won his share of races in grade A and was also in the finals of the stakes race. He too is posted up in this effort on the inside part of the racetrack. The break is the critical thing for him in this effort. If he can stalk early, he will have a chance to challenge late. Jamboree Frankie gets a couple of helping hands in this effort. He gets a good post to break from and no real speed to his inside. All he has to do is forget about the last effort and get back to what he does best, BREAKING. If he can be around the front early on, he should be able to hold on in the money at the finish line. Speaking of Finish Lines,l Ray's Finishline is the other greyhound that you just can't forget about in this effort. Since he fizzled out over 660 yards, his return to 550 has been quite impressive. He won his first start and finished a close second in the next. He has been breaking way better from the shorter box and has proven that he is going to keep coming and trying throughout. Midtrack is his place, let's see what he does with the 4 box here. (8-3-2-4)

Saturday - 9/25/2010
Another big time match up over 660 yards, or if the 15th race for Saturday Evening turns out like last time, maybe not!
1. Kiowa Trent Tam (Trent Lee - Kay V Barbierie) had won 4 straight still she ran into Eds Budby 2 races back. She has won since and is in her best box tonight, but can she overtake the CHAMP?
2. Run River Queen (Ctw Countin Money - Motley Roxy) has some good early speed, but without the front she is not the same greyhound on the racetrack. Against this big time field, this could be rough.
3. Starla Vintage (Fuzzys Cannon - Instant Vintage) climbed back to grade A in her last race and started to right the ship. Even though she is a closer, she needs to break better. If she is close, she contends.
4. JJB Dibaba (Lonesome Cry - Joe's My Man) is up from grade D and might be over his head again these big boys and girls. Hard to knock 3 wins in 4 races though. This closer must want it tonight.
5. Eds Budby (Domingo Dodge - Cherokee Queen) the Orange Park Derby winner is back over 660 and proving that he is the only greyhound to consider at this distance. The 5 box is his only hurdle.
6. Wp's Lonesumdove (Lonesome Cry - Fuzzys Spider) runs tough when she can get near the early lead in any race. Without the lead, she is a different greyhound. The break is the ticket to her success.
7. Hallo My Pear (Hallo West Acre - Kiowa Chil Cavel) has recently returned to 660 yards and has been running well. He is short late, so being close early is extra important to her. Post up, he could contend.
8. Miss Minerva (Swanson - Trixies Wish) is a solid chaser over 660 with a bit of a close working for her. Even though she runs on the rail, she likes it outside. Winning is a stretch, but money factoring is not.
Once again the top two greyhounds at the racetrack will be matching up over 660 yards, but will the outcome be the same. I thought that it was going to be a good race last time out and Eds Budby won for fun, 8 1/2 lengths. So can Budby do it again from the 5 box, or is it Trent Tam's time to shine from the 1? As we are all aware both are extremely talented and if they both come to run, it is going to be a great race to watch. With Budby in the 5 box, I think it levels the playing field a bit for Tam and that alone is what is going to make or break this race. I still think Budby breaks ok, and remember he can close from off the pace and win too. The Derby winner is just too much for this field and will take home the win. Tam gives her best again, but once again, it's just second best. Others to consider here, Starla Vintage and Wp's Lonesumdove. Starla is back in grade A and looks to keep the good mojo going. She likes the rail, is in a good post, and is back to breaking a bit. If she can get around the leaders early on, she might have an outside shot in this effort. Lonesumdove has really only one chance here and that is to break. If she can get her nose ahead of the rest, she might even pull off the upset. She is short once getting passed, so being caught in the stretch is a good possibility too. For her the break is critical to how she ends up at the wire. (5-1-3-6)

Saturday - 9/25/2010
Spot play number 1 is up in the 11th race on the card for Saturday Matinee.
1. Gs Roman (Dodgem By Design - J's Wrinkle Free) is an all out early speed greyhound that heads back to grade A in this effort. Even though the 1 box helps him, the stretch run could be a long night.
2. Howdoyoulikethat (Lonesome Cry - Here's The Thing) might have had a couple of rough trips in a row, but this effort starts from the rail. He can really run from here & normally breaks. If he comes to run, watch out!
3. Yourgood Imgreat (Diamond's For Me - Let's Run To Win) finally gets back inside and that will be a difference maker. He can go to the lead, or come from off the pace. If he is loose, this race is over.
4. Kiowa Vincent (Flying Hydrogen - Greg Kiowa Girl) will be longshot in this effort, and if he wants to change that, he is going to have to break best. His only chance at gaining some cred, is to hit the lid.
5. Sunsand Fannymay (Lonesome Cry - Sunsands Sienna) is another strong breaker in this field that gets empty post room at the start. Like most she is short late. She needs to be first to the turn.
6. Kiowa Shag Along (Flying Stanley - Kiowa Shag Sue) could be the best of the ankle burners in this race. If he decides to hit it, the race for the lead is over, but the race to the wire is not!
7. Diamond Mia (Get Over - Rooftop Flojo) is a strong closer that likes the outside posts and gets one today. She has not done well in grade A so far, but maybe she is do. Is the post enough? We will see.
8. Vanessa Rousso (Kelsos Fusileer - Ctw Gossip News) will be thinking about going all in as soon as she gets to the stretch. This huge closer can run down almost anyone, but the 8 box is a long way from the rail.
I know he won't be in the early lead in this effort, but I still like Yourgood Imgreat to win this race. He is finally back on the inside part of the racetrack and that is going to play a big role in the outcome of this effort. In his career he has not run out of the money from this post and has won 2 of his last 3 races starting from the 3 box. He has what he needs to win this race. He will break close and show the big early speed greyhounds what he has at the finish line. It might not be too pretty, but a win, is a win, is a win. Dueling it out on the front end and surrendering late should be Kiowa Shag Along and Sunsand Fannymay. Both of these greyhounds can bring it from the starting box, but Shag Along is just a hair better to the turn than Fanny is. What is scary is that this is a matinee and if they get too far away and get some help behind them, either one of this pair could wire this field on the lead. Let's not forget Vanessa Rousso either. She has loads of closing ability and just missed a win 2 races back, but the 8 box is the problem. She loves the rail and will have to work to get there and that might involve trouble. If she can stay clear of complications, she might have an outside shot in the stretch. (3-6-8-5)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sunday - 9/26/2010
Capping off the weekend, Sunday Matinee's 7th race offers up spot play number 2.
1. Big Drama (Get Over - Rooftop Flojo) is all about the rail all the time. This closer normally breaks from here and races off with the lead and the win. POST gives her a dramafree effort!
2. Tmc's Bestofshow (Dodgem By Design - Tmc's Pardon Me) has not showed up in grade A as of yet, but the rail post might be a big bonus for her in this effort. Note to self, breaking quickly works too.
3. Mw Springer (Lewis And Wax - Mw's April Rain) might not be winning races, but he has been in the mix in most of the ones that he has run in. From inside or out, from near the lead, he can factor.
4. Kiowa Heart Won (Heart Rumble* - Kiowa Oneofakind) joins the grade A ranks again hot off an almost box to wire win. Breaking quickly is her best attribute, she better not forget that today.
5. Kane's Pawnee (Dodgem By Design - Summer Showers) needs a clean trip in order to show off his talents, unfortunately he starts out this race from the 5 box. Without a break, all I can say is OUCH!
6. Warship (Dragon Fire - Flying Rachel) is about as fast as he wants to be! If he clears close and wants to contend, this could turn into a very interesting race. Let's see where his head is at right now!
7. Gs Tee Up (Afleet Alex - Gm's Peachykeen) might be a puppy, but he has veteran skills. He can run up front and come from off the pace as well. Breaking from a good post, he could take over early on.
8. Kcon Told You So (Maryville Rumble* - Cafe Queen) has run well in grade A and used her early speed to stay there for a long time. She is short, short, short late and even with the front, no dice today!
I like the easy decisions. No thinking, just typing. Big Drama gets the nod in this race and it is strictly because of the post position. This greyhound is a whole different breed when she gets to start the race wearing the red dress. She loves it inside and has never finished out of the money in any of her 6 career starts from this post. How good is she? Well, she has won 2 in a row and 4 of her last 5 from the 1 box. I'm convinced! You should be too! Gs Tee Up might not have as many starts or trips around the racetrack, but he has the same amount of skill. This Afleet Alex greyhound is clearly a threat and might just have the best raw speed in the bunch. If he does clear from this outside post position, he could be the one to beat in this effort. Mw Springer is the greyhound that just always seems to be around throughout, and at the end of the races. He has not won a start in a while, but he has finished in the money in 8 of his last 10 races in grade A. From a good post position today, he should keep on truckin in this effort. Kcon Told You So has been a good surprise for the PTL Kennel. This greyhound came into Orange Park and took well to the racetrack. She has good early speed and has been parlaying that trait into some good finishes in her races. Against some of the best she has shown that she can hang, today you might just get more of the same. Eds Budby and Kiowa Trent Tam face off
Friday - 9/17/2010
Stakes winners, spot plays, and absolute lock is what is in store for you this weekend at the Orange Park Kennel Club.
Loads of talent runs thru our 4 feature races on Friday, Saturday Matinee, Saturday Evening, and Sunday Matinee. Three over the shorter distance and one over 660 yards. As always it is going to be exciting to see who comes out on top. Will the early speed flyers wire the field? Or, will the closers prove best in the deep stretch? Make sure to tune in and see the outcome of these terrific events.
Stakes winner up first in the 10th race on the card for Friday Evening at the Orange Park Kennel Club.
1. Smokin Az Becket (Team Record* - Ptl Linda)is a solid grade A competitor that has some good early speed at her disposable. Up against a tough field, she has to break in this effort.
2. Gs Tee Up (Afleet Alex - Gm's Peachykeen) might be a pup but has grade A skills in his arsenal. Here the biggest help is the post. From the rail, it could be rebound, upset, time at Orange Park.
3. Kiowa Ellie (Kiowa Sweet Trey - Kiowa Mary Tammi) is back up in A, but needs to step up her game in order to contend here. She gets an inside post, and that could be a difference maker.
4. Wiki Letsgetloud (Always Faithful - Not Short Onluck) might not be winning, but has been factoring early and at the wire in grade A. Her break is her best attribute, she will need it tonight.
5. Craigie Ironclad (Kiowa Sweet Trey - Greys Starwishes) is a strong closer that needs to get around near the lead in order to be effective. The 5 box might just be the end to his chances here.
6. Kiowa Vinita (Flying Hydrogen - Greg Kiowa Girl) JJP Silver Cup winner is a long way from the rail and that could play into this race. Her effort and late speed won't be absent, so expect her to threaten.
7. Orion Lee (Trent Lee - Hurry Hannah) is an early speed machine with 6 wins in 7 starts. Once in front he is tough to take down, and he can win from the outside. He is clearly the one to beat.
8. Gil's Hollywood (Maryville Rumble* - Gil's Run N Rach) has taken to the racetrack nicely and uses his early speed to get around the lead. He is short late, so a HUGE break is the key to his success.
Easy pickings here, well that is if Orion Lee keeps on doing what he has been over the last month. He clearly is the best rusher in the bunch and from this post he will get room to run. As the 6 heads to the rail, bonus space on the racetrack. The only thing he might have to deal with is the 8 dog if he decides to fly from the starting box. Either way he wins the footrace to the turn and should be able to survive late for the win. Trying to run him down will be a talented duo, one old and experienced, and the other new and inexperienced. Both have great talent, but one has proved it with a stakes title. What makes Kiowa Vinita so special is that she just never gives up. No matter what happens she just keeps on coming. No inside post here, for the 1st time in 6 races, so she will have to make the most of what she has. This alone could be the reason for her not to win this effort. If she does get out of the box and stalk the pace throughout, she could easily come out the winner in this effort. The other greyhound mentioned is Gs Tee Up. This puppy out of All-American Afleet Alex might be short on experience, but he is long on talent. He finally gets back inside and that will really help him get a clean run and factor once again in this effort. Forget the last couple of trouble ridden races, and give this great looking youngster another look. He has all the tools, break, rush, and close and will use all of them to factor around the leaders for the duration of this race. Wiki Letsgetloud also gets a look here as the early speeder has a chance to contend with the frontrunners for the lead in this effort. Granted winning is a stretch as she is short late, but holding on in the money is not. Let's see if she is up to the challenge. (7-6-2-4)
Saturday - 9/18/2010
Lock time in the 15th and final race on the card for Saturday Evening at Orange Park.
1. Rum River Queen (Ctw Countin Money - Motley Roxy) has some good news here, she likes the rail and gets it in this race. Breaking is the only way she factors, but it might not even matter against this field.
2. Kiowa Trent Tam (Trent Lee - Kay V Barbierie) has won 4 straight and 3 in a row over 660 since missing the stakes final at 550. She is all rail all the time and this is the 2 box. Let's see if she can beat the champ.
3. Hallo My Pear (Hallo West Acre - Kiowa Chil Cavel) is an even runner over the added distance and was next best last time out. Getting out of the starting box well will go a long way to help him in this one.
4. Lovemewhenimgone (Em's Mac Attack - Js Auntie June) has been running tough as of late, except for her last race, forgetaboutit. From a good middle post, she needs to rebound in this race.
5. Ww Kay Sea (Greys Flamebeau - Ww Kiowa Sister) is a solid chaser over 660, but lacks that closing kick that she shows off over 550. She won't come from off the pace, so she must be close early on.
6. Miss Minerva (Swanson - Trixies Wish) has the closing speed needed to contend late for a money position, besides she is 6 for 6 in the top 4 positions. Streak continues here.
7. Jean's Gypsy (Golddust Memory - Gifted Lex) can put up some impressive races, but she has to want to give her all. Posted well on the outside part of the racetrack, does she show up, or not?
8. Eds Budby (Domingo Dodge - Cherokee Queen) is the 2010 Orange Park Derby winner who finished 2nd in the Silver Cup and has won back to back races since moving back to 660. Breaking sharply now from a good post, Tam could see her win streak end tonight.
If there was ever a lock quiniela on paper, I guess you would have to say that this race is it. The two best greyhounds over 660 yards are both in this race. Both of them love the starting boxes they have drawn, they both have win streaks going, and they were within .01 seconds of each other in their last efforts. So who wants it more? Who is going to have the edge? I'll take the rested champ and runner up in the Silver Cup, Eds Budby. By the slimmest of margins, Budby, will find a way to get around clear and even if he can't see the lead early on, he has the extra kick needed in the stretch to steal away the win before the finish line. Kiowa Trent Tam is the obvious next choice as she has looked unbeatable as well. Tam loves the rail and is close enough in the 2 box to do some damage. She too has really been coming out of the starting box and has run really tough on the front end. If they both decide to show up at the start of this race, it could be a battle for the ages. Best of the rest heads out to Miss Minerva. She has been running hot as of late and can come from just off the pace if needed to get up into contention. She has not missed the money in 6 efforts in a row and third best is all she is going to be able to get in this effort too. Her steady chase finds her in the money at the wire. Lovemewhenimgone had a rough trip last time out, but should make amends for it in this effort tonight. Previous to that effort, she had been in the cash in 5 races in a row, including a win from a similar post position. She too has something left in the tank in the stretch, and that could be difference if she makes the top 4 at the finish line tonight. (8-2-6-4)
Saturday - 9/18/2010
Up next is the 11th race on the card for Saturday Matinee at the Orange Park Kennel Club.
1. Gs Holly Ho (Rapido Rambo - Gm's Cutie) might be up a grade, or two, in this effort, but she does get her best starting box, so that's a plus. Even though she can close, breaking would too. She must come out running.
2. Jayvan (RaBlazer - Shake My Soul) is on the rail! Do I really need to say more? I guess you can say that she found a phone booth and has put on the red cape. Time to fly home for the victory!
3. Switzler Takeoff (Clappin Thunder - Switzler Firefly) has been on a mission since exiting the stakes. Five straight quinielas from inside post! Wow, another one here with the 3, figure it out!
4. Warship (Dragon Fire - Flying Rachel) is as fast as he wants to be and after an attitude adjustment, he might have his mind back on racing. Fast is all you really need to know, winning is a tough play, but 2nd and 3rd, not!
5. Kiowa Heart Won (Heart Rumble* - Kiowa Oneofakind) might have a rough go of it up two grades in this effort. Breaking and rushing are his best qualities and he will need everything he has in order to get into the mix today.
6. Par Zapster (Lonesome Cry - Rl Zipper) Six efforts in a row in the money is good, but that was in grade C and B. Welcome to grade A, and the top talent. She has what it takes to factor, she just needs to prove it.
7. Kiowa Boyd Bambi (Flying Hydrogen - Kiowa Jup Boyd) is a big time closer that will be making up ground throughout in this effort. Posted well, he just can't take too long to get the engines heated up if he wants a chance to win.
8. Kiowa Fly Lori (Flying Stanley - Sl Cassie Lou) is back in grade A after a big box to wire win in her last effort. She runs her best on, or near, the lead and will have to pop the box again in order to hang around the money to the wire.
Jayvan has to be the one to beat in this race. This greyhound is a whole different kind of running when she gets to start from the rail posts, and surprise, this is the 2 box. She has great closing speed, but seems to break better from the rail starting positions. If she is close early on, the race will be for place today. Switzler Takeoff should be the biggest threat to Jayvan in this effort. Takeoff has really lived up to her name over the last 5 starts where she has not missed the quiniela. She has been breaking well and showing off some closing speed in the process. She was just nosed out in her last effort and really she could be riding high on a grade A win. She has all the tools, is posted up, and is running hot. What more do you want? Warship is another competitor that the leaders should be concerned with in this race. This greyhound has a great name because he is a battler. He is as fast as he wants to be and if he wants to contend for the win in this effort, he will. His drawback is that he is like he is, and it looks like he likes to play around. If he head is not on straight in this effort, he could easily give up the win too in the deep stretch. Either way though, he will provide a fierce challenge for the leaders today. Par Zapster is moving up in grade, but it is hard to ignore 6 efforts in a row in the money. What might be even more impressive is that she has won 2 of her last 4 races. She has a solid break, a big rush, and something still left in the tank in the stretch. If she can get around from the outside post, which might be tough for her, she could take the next step to showing that she belongs in the ranks with the grade A's. (2-3-4-6)
Sunday - 9/19/2010
Capping off the weekend we finish things off in the 11th race on the card for Sunday Matinee.
1. La's Silver (Be Discrete - La's Felisha) has to get back to breaking in this effort and the one box might go a long way in helping her out in her quest. If she fails to get out quickly, it could be a long day!
2. Kiowa Mc Gee (Kiowa Sweet Trey - Kiowa Wild Color) is just a puppy and is still figuring it all out, but one thing he knows it that he likes the rail! This 2 box will do him wonders in this race. Upset minded, we will see.
3. Wp's Clinton (Fuzzys Cannon - M's Countess Amy) has the best raw speed of anyone in this race and if he gets loose in the open, this race will be over. The post helps, the break and the rest is up to him.
4. Jamboree Frankie (My John Q - Slingshot Mary) might be up a couple of grades, but has shown no signs of slowing down. He has enough early to get into the mix and enough late to contend. Expect his 7th in the money finish in a row.
5. Uss West Coast (Lonesome Cry - Uss Mysterious) is the hottest thing going in this race in grade A. He has won 3 of 6 and has been tough from box to wire in each of his efforts. All he has to do is hit it, and the win will be his to lose.
6. Gs Speedo (Deerfield Site* - Steffie's Charm) ran like he had one on in his last race where he upset the field on the front end. Red hot now with 6 in a row in the money, if he beats the box again, it could be back to back jacks.
7. Kiowa Kay Wilbur (Kiowa Sweet Trey - Kiowa Kay Kattie) is a solid grade A greyhound that has enough early speed to be dangerous in this race. Post is not in his favor here, long way to the rail, but if he is out front it won't matter. Will he break?
8. Where's Lil Tiny (Lonesome Cry - Cm Lil Bit) has won more races recently than any other greyhound in this field. (4 of 6) The way she gets it done is by BREAKING fast. If she fires to the front, she could upset again.
From the recent results and the competition he has been competing against, Uss West Coast looks like the pick to win in this effort. Forget about the post, he can run from here, and besides breaking quickly is his biggest attribute. All he needs to do is come ready to run, break fast, and the rest will be taken care of. With 3 wins in grade A showing, Uss West Coast is the one to beat. Wp's Clinton gets a notice here as he has the best raw speed of anyone in this field. He is frankly just a bit faster than the rest, but he has to have room to run in order to show off what his momma gave him. If he can't get around the turn, he won't win this effort, but if he does, watch out! Jamboree Frankie is jumping up in class today, but he has the skills to keep on keeping on in this effort. He has not missed the money in 6 straight and in his last 5 in a row he has been 3rd or better the finish line. He is mostly about the early speed, so the break will be critical to him in this effort. Kiowa Mc Gee is a puppy but he seems to show that he has skills to keep up with the veterans on some occasions. The post here plays a huge role in how he is going to perform in this effort. He loves the rail and the 2 box is really close enough to give him a slight edge. If he comes out fast in this race from this great post, it is not out of the realm of possibility that he could steal a win. (5-3-4-2)

Spotplay Money to be Made on Wed Sept 15th
Ok so everyone know the golden rule, but little of us follow it, you know, only bets certain races that you know you can hit, not all the races.
Well on Wednesday at the Orange Park Kennel Club you could have loaded up on a couple greyhounds and took home, or replunished your stock, of cold hard cash.
In the Matinee some great plays that panned out were Wp's Commodore in the 11th, Changling in the 13th and Kiowa Adara Art in the 14th.
All three greyhound looked to be the one to beat and each didn't disappoint.
Commodore loves to break from the rail and the 3 box was close enough with no speed to his inside.
Changling took to the outside post and was long gone early on, and Art was in grade B and clearly the class of the field.
The action continue on in the night card as well with Gm's Cashman, Kiowa Vic, Rays Pride, Kiowa Trent Tam, and Eds Mark Time.
All of these greyhounds were easy plays for a couple of different reasons.
Gm's Cashman was the Night of Stars winner and was competing in grade B race, enough said.
Kiowa Vic was a solid drop that got a cheaper B field and was due to hit the lid from a good outside post position.
Rays Pride has been a stakes runner here and was competing in grade C.
Kiowa Trent Tam, well if I have to explain it, they you haven't been paying attention. LOL! Only kidding, the best of two over 660 right now, she was doing what she does best and still payed $5 to win.
Last but not least, Eds Budby's brother, Eds Mark Time, got the rail post and put up a second win in a row.
Paylay these easy winners with some others underneath and you could have had a great payday at the racetrack.
Remember that spot plays are useful tools and keep them in mind the next time you are making your wagers.

Orion Lee Trying for 6 Straight
Friday - 9/10/2010
The stakes might be over, but the action is still running hot here at the Orange Park Kennel Club. Another great weekend is ahead of us and we will just touch on each of the cards with our featured grade A races for Friday, Saturday Matinee, Saturday Evening, and Sunday Matinee.
Over both 550 and 660 yards, we will feature some good young talent, some streaking greyhounds, some returning to their homes, and the best in the biz. So sit back and enjoy all of the world class greyhound racing this weekend at the Orange Park Kennel Club.
Leading off our journey for the weekend, we will take a look at the 10th race for Friday evening.
1. Orion Lee (Trent Lee - Hurry Hannah) is the best rusher in this race and he has won 5 races in a row on the lead. From the one box, can you say out and gone early on? I know you can!
2. Kiowa Kay Sully (Solitary Runner - Sol Happy) is better than her lines show and if she can get some room to run early, watch out! Breaking better would help too. It's up to her tonight.
3. Gs Prada (Get Over - Nicole's Andrea) climbed her way up to grade A, but has had a rough go of it so far. She can close at the end of the race, she just needs to have a better trip. Tonight might be the night.
4. Vanessa Rousso (Kelsos Fusileer - Ctw Gossip News) is a tremendous closer over the 550 yard course, and she likes this post. See win by 7 in 30.37! Just missing last time, she could get up in time here.
5. Kiowa Vincent (Flying Hydrogen - Greg Kiowa Girl) is all about breaking and runs his best when he is on or near the early lead. He will get room with the empty box, he needs to steal many to win.
6. Kiowa Ellie (Kiowa Sweet Trey - Kiowa Mary Tammi) is coming back off a rest with a vengeance. Her break has returned and so has her efforts. Hot off a win in grade B, she is poised to makes some noise.
7. Teeshawn (Fuzzys Cannon - Well Chosen) you never know what you are going to get with him. He has all the tools to win this race, but is he going to use them. The post will do him no favors tonight.
8. Daycare Ron (Lonesome Cry - Ml Teardrops) was solid in the stakes and just missed the final. He will not dazzle you and winning might be a stretch, but he will contend throughout in this one.
No doubt who I'm going to pick here! I'll go with everyone else and take Orion Lee for the win. Come on he has won 5 races in a row and has the 1 box. He is the best rusher to the turn and once in front he has proven really tough to beat. All he needs to do is run his race, and the win is his. Trying to take him down late will be Vanessa Rousso. She is a super closer over 550 and likes this post. If she can break, she has an opportunity to steal away the win, if not she still might do it from off the pace. We will see. Daycare Ron might be a stretch to win, but he should contend again in this effort. He was tough in the stakes and there are no stakes runners here. He will get room on the outside, he just needs to turn that into another strong effort. Kiowa Ellie get the best of the rest title tonight. She is rested and ready to go and has a couple of things in her favor. The break, the rest, and the post, all of which will aide her into the money again in this race. (1-4-8-6)
Saturday - 9/11/2010
Second up on our trip thru the weekend cards is the 11th race for Saturday Matinee.
1. Jt's Firstaround (Jt's Goesaround - Suznater) has been really running hot as of late and has continued that in his grade A efforts. The post is not a help, but breaking will be. If he can get close, he contends.
2. Kiowa Kay Wilbur (Kiowa Sweet Trey - Kiowa Kay Kattie) is a strong breaker that likes the rail post positions. Starting from the 2 box is a plus, especially if he can hit it. Upset minded, he could get it done.
3. Switzler Takeoff (Clappin Thunder - Switzler Firefly) is moving back to A in this effort, but she is not stranger. Off the stakes, and off a win, she is ready for this field and might just be the one to beat.
4. Kelsos Puremagic (Kelsos Fusileer - Kelsos Gabriella) is a monster when she gets out of the box and is close to the early leaders in any race. The problem is that you never know when HYDE will show up?
5. Tipp London (Dodgem By Design - Gilded Memory*) has good early speed, but pays for it late in race. She is short in the stretch and recently she has not been breaking as sharp. She needs to find it again here.
6. Rt Pepper (Big Monday - Noah's Pollywog) is riding high off a grade A win in her last effort and hopes to repeat here. If she wants to, she needs to come out running, if not, who knows what will happen.
7. Wp's Clinton (Fuzzys Cannon - M's Countess Amy) might have some trouble in this race if he doesn't break. He loves the rail and might have a rough time getting there. If he does snap the box, he has the tools to win.
8. Gs Shabam (Dodgem By Design - Gs Gertie) has some closing speed and is coming off a win heading into this effort. Moving up in grade might be tough, but if she can clear close, she has a shot at the money late.
Stretching out a bit on this pick, but sometimes you have to go with your gut and what you have seen over the last couple of efforts. With that being said, Switzler Takeoff should be the best choice to win this race. She has been running and closing extremely well over her last couple of weeks of races. She was tough in the stakes rounds and with another advantageous inside post, she gets close early and proves unstoppable late. Another stalker, closer, Jt's Firstaround, needs a look here too. He too has been at the top of his game and has not missed the money in 6 races in a row, including back to back wins 5 races ago. He too can come on late and the 1 box will only help him in this race. If he clears close enough, he too has a shot to win this race. Leading the way early on should be Kiowa Kay Wilbur. This greyhound has loads of speed from the box and when he wants to use it, he can prove pretty tough to take down before the finish line, especially in a MATINEE. The post is working in his favor too, but he still needs to outlast the chasers late if he wants to win. If he gets some help behind him in this effort, it could get done. Now for the wildcard in this race, Wp's Clinton! This greyhound could easily paste this field if the mood suits him, you just never know when that will be. He is all rail all the time and will have to work down to it from the outside in this effort. If he is in front, not problems, if he is not, T-R-O-U-B-L-E. So just in case, you have to put him in somewhere. (3-1-2-7)
Saturday - 9/11/2010
Now for the distance feature race for the weekend, coming your way in the 15th for Saturday Evening.
1. Gs Ahlynn (Rapido Rambo - Gm's Cutie) can run this far and has done well in the past. Sat in the box last time out and really needs to break here. Her biggest hurdle tonight, the post position.
2. Miss Minerva (Swanson - Trixies Wish) back in grade A after a good win in her last effort. She is posted up tonight on the rail and has enough late speed to contend. Can she stay clear of early trouble? that is the question here.
3. Starla Vintage (Fuzzys Cannon - Instant Vintage) is better than her last couple of races show. Here she is back inside and that could be a difference maker. From the lead or from behind, she is a threat to win.
4. On The Fly (Dodgem By Design - Ww Ellen's Time) had won 5 of 6 races! She is tough on the lead and if she breaks here, she will be the one to beat. Midtrack, no problem, but she must be close early to win.
5. Candy Girl (Flying Penske - Solitary Flyer) has to be around early to be effective, just like she was in her last race. She just missed there and if she can come out running, she might be again tonight. It depends on her early effort.
6. Kiowa Trent Tam (Trent Lee - Kay V Barbierie) was the best over 660 before the stakes, and returned with a win last time out. She has it all. Break, rush, speed, close, and determination. The choice tonight!
7. Tipsy Brutus W (Tipsy Character - Jetstar Streaker) is a big time closer that will be coming on at the end of the race. His problem is that he waits too long sometimes. The post is in his favor, so tonight, you never know.
8. Lady Gator (Get Over - Rooftop Flojo) is the big ???? in the field. Can she break? Can she get the lead? If she does, she might even win! She is just so inconsistent that it is tough to get a fix on her!
Easy pick in this race, let's take the best greyhound over 660 yards in the last couple of months, Kiowa Trent Tam. Moving back to 660 from 550, she should be breaking quicker and that is just more bad news for the rest of the field. The only real thing that she might have to worry about in this effort is the post positions. She like it on the rail better, but she should be up front early and should be able to move where she wants to be on the racetrack. From the lead, or from just off the pace, she gets it done again tonight. Candy Girl is looking for another big break, and effort, in this race and I think she is up to the task. She likes to come from those middle to outside post and the 5 box is right in her comfort zone. If she doesn't hit the mark early, you can forget about her in this effort. On The Fly was the Queen while Trent Tam was away at the stakes, and now if she wants the crown back, she is going to have to take it. She too is a breaker, rusher, closer, but she needs to be close to the early leaders in order to be effective. The post is no problem for her. Tonight she just needs to want it again, and that could be the difference at the finish line. Gs Ashlynn gets a tough post draw and if she goes wide too early on, she might just take herself out of this race. She needs to get out there, but the best way to get that accomplished is by breaking quickly from the starting box. She has had success from here in the past though, 7 of 8 in the money, including 3 wins. (6-5-4-1)
Sunday - 9/12/2010
Capping off the weekend we take a look at the 11th race on the card for Sunday Matinee.
1. Kiowa Sue Manny (Kiowa Mon Manny - Kiowa Sweet Sue) can run a bunch when she is close and the 1 box is the wrong place for her to be in this effort. She is wide, wide, wide. This could be a long day.
2. Kiowa Mc Gee (Kiowa Sweet Trey - Kiowa Wild Color) jumped to grade A undefeated, but has had a rough growing up process. With a break out A win last time out from a similar post, the light bulb might be turned on again here.
3. La's Silver (Be Discrete - La's Felisha) has won 2 of her last 4 races since exiting the stakes event early. She has great early speed and has to be in the front to win. A big break will be needed in this effort.
4. Gm's Chicago (Dodgem By Design - Gs Gertie) just missed making the stakes final with some spirited runs in qualifying. His break is his best attribute and he needs to hit it here. If he does see the lead, he contends for the win.
5. Fth Chinook Wind (Dodgem By Design - Cm Lil Bit) showed that the rest has done him well as he pasted a grade A field in his return effort. He did get help there though, but the outside post and his late speed get him into contention.
6. Kiowa Kay Share (Solitary Runner - Sol Happy) didn't fare well in the stakes rounds, but has rebounded nicely since her exit. She has been breaking better and closing like a monster. No matter the lead, she will be a threat to win it late.
7. Where's Lil Tiny (Lonesome Cry - Cm Lil Bit) is all about the break and if she is not in the early lead, she is usually fades out of contention. If she does see the front, she is as fast as she wants to be. Winning 3 of 4 , the hot meter is burning up, but can she get it done in grade A?
8. Tam Ellie Eye (Trent Lee - Princo Gator Eye) has shown some early speed since arriving at Orange Park, but will need a tip top effort to contend against this talented field. The post is the worst part. This all rail runner will need to find a route to the rail in order to factor.
I really don't care how well the greyhounds did in the stakes, frankly because this is not the stakes, and these are not stakes greyhounds, so let's go with Kiowa Kay Share. Kay Share has loads of late speed and when I tell you that no lead is safe, I mean NO LEAD is safe. She can easily pick up anyone in this race if she wants to and if he decides to break quickly, the race will be for place. Gm's Chicago should be the one that Kay Share is trying to catch at the end of this effort. You need to forget his last effort as he was on the way to the lead and got into a mess at the first turn. Before that he has been solid from start to finish and he will return to that form in this effort. Once in front he could be tough to take down, but I believe that Kay Share is up to the challenge. Kiowa Mc Gee is an interest prospect in this effort. Finally showing just what he can do, the inside post gives him an opportunity to post up back to back winning efforts. He has not broken quickly in a while now and might be due to do so in this race. If he can be around the pace, he has an outside shot at the win today. Fth Chinook Wind gets a look here for a couple of reasons. He is running on fresh legs and is coming off a huge victory in this last effort. I know he got a benefit at the 1st turn, but he was already in the lead and would have won the race anyways. Here with room early on with the empty post and enough closing speed to get into the mix, even without the lead, he will do what needs to be done to find the money. (6-4-2-5)
The stakes might be over, but the action is still running hot here at the Orange Park Kennel Club. Another great weekend is ahead of us and we will just touch on each of the cards with our featured grade A races for Friday, Saturday Matinee, Saturday Evening, and Sunday Matinee.

2010 James J Patton Silver Cup Finals Race Breakdown
Saturday - 9/4/2010
On Saturday Evening at the Orange Park Kennel Club the 11th race on the card will be the finals of the 2010 James J Patton Silver Cup. This race is going to be great to watch as he have loads of talent and the way the posts drew out, this could be anyone's race to win.
Remember too that we will be giving away Scratch-Off Tickets were every card is a winner of a cash voucher, food, or other prizes here at the Orange Park Kennel Club.
Now let's look into this final round field a bit more closely.
1. Kiowa Vinita (Flying Hydrogen - Greg Kiowa Girl) might have draw the best post of any of the greyhounds and she got to pick last. She loves it down here and even though she is not the best breaker, she might be able to get some room early on so that she can close late. Her best skill is coming on in the later part of the race. Keys for her will be staying on the rail, and patience. Wait till you can get room to rush late, and that might see you factor at the wire.
2. Comedrinkwithme (Dauntless - Instant Vintage) was the point leader in the stakes with 3 wins in 4 rounds and also draws a pretty good starting box. He likes the rail and seems to get out of the box well from the inside positions. He has enough late speed to run with anyone here and if he breaks quick, the outcome could already be decided. Helping him out is the box next door. Paddy goes wide, which means even more room for him at the break. The key for him is just coming out close. If he is in contention early, it will be tough to beat him to the finish line.
3. Paddy Whacker (Heart Rumble* - Spicy Candy) is the 2010 JGR Puppy Stakes winner and arguably has the best raw speed in the bunch. The only problem for him in this effort is the post. He is a wide side runner that likes to cruise around the track out there and has to start from in here. The only saving grace for him might be his effort in the 1st round of the stakes. He had the same 3 box he has here and posted up a monster box tow ire win. The key to his success, BREAKING! He has not gotten around close in 3 rounds in a row. A solid break tonight, could put him back into the winner's circle in this effort.
4. Really Xtreme (Afleet Alex - Xtreme Hustler) has already accomplished something just by making the finals of this race in his 14th official start. This puppy is the real deal and can win from on or off the early pace. He has good closing speed and is speaking loudly for his sire, and 2007 All-American, Afleet Alex. This guy might have some growing up to do in this effort though. The post is a tough one for him as Paddy is bigger and will be coming his way early on in this effort. If he can break, and can miss the early trouble, he has the skills to win this race. Keys for him are, breaking, rushing, and to keep on coming. If he stays true to what he has been doing, and forgets about the situation, he could be an upset winner.
5. Raiders Bart (Dodgem By Design - Raiders Azeri) is always underrated and really needs to start being recognized for how good he really is. This greyhound has won 9 of his last 16 races and once in front, he is so tough to take off the lead. The 5 box is doing him no favors in this race, but if he breaks it really won't matter all that much. He is not just a frontrunner either. He can close too and challenge in the stretch. Keys for him are frankly, getting out of the box well and getting some room to rush the turn in. If he can continue to keep up the pace, he could have an outside shot.
6.Leading Steps (Lonesome Cry - Tk Ashira) is the best breaking in the bunch and will most likely be the one to catch in this effort. He is competing in his 3rd stakes final in a row and he has finished in the money in the 2 previous ones. He was nosed out for the win in the Night of Stars feature race and this time around he is looking to hold on at the wire for the win. If he breaks like he can, he will be unabated to the lead in this effort. The key to him winning this race is really, really, easy, JUST BREAK! All he has to do is steal 20 on the field, and get some help behind him, and he could be the new champion.
7. Kiowa Top Design (Dodgem By Design - Flying Acme) really stepped up his game in the rounds and has proven that he belongs in the conversation with the rest of the greyhounds in this field. He is so very tough on the lead and has never been caught from behind in any effort where he has been in front. He likes to break outside too, so the second O'Donnell greyhound has a very good post as well. The key for him in this final round race is getting out of the box. He has to break in order to be effective and that might be tough with Steps right next door. If he can clear 2nd, he might just be able to outlast Steps late in this race.
8. Eds Budby (Domingo Dodge - Cherokee Queen) finally took to the shorter distance and made a 550 yard stakes final in his 3rd try. This winner of the 2010 Orange Park Derby is better known for his 660 yard prowess, but in this stakes as least, he has broke close, closed well, and has challenged over 550 too. The post is really what is throwing him for a loop in this effort. This greyhound is all rail all the time and starts out from the outside of outside posts. He is going to have to work hard to get there and that could delay his close at the end of the race. The key for him is getting out of the box. If he can stalk the early pace to his inside and get room to run, no one might be able to match him in the stretch.
So now how is this race going to play out? For me I like Leading Steps to hit the mark from the box and take early command of this race. No greyhound has been better to the early lead, and Steps will prove that he is the one to catch again tonight. Comedrinkwithme gets room early as Paddy Whacker, Whacks Really Xtreme at the break as he tries to get outside. Raiders Bart should also be around early as he follows the speed to the turn. Kiowa Vinita also gets room on the rail and sticks to it as they head up the frontstretch. Eds Budby heads to the rail at the break and finds Kiowa Top Design in the way of the progress. As they approach the turn Steps should be clear of the competition in the lead as Comedrinkwithme and Raiders Bart are closely chasing behind. Paddy Whacker has finally made it outside and should be staring to make a move, as Kiowa Vinita hugs the rail. Xtreme, Top Design, and Budby are trying to overcome the early trouble. Down the backside Steps stretches out the lead a bit and by the far turn he is still in command. Down the stretch is where things will get interesting. Steps will be fighting to get to the wire and the closers, and even the chasers will be coming. The closer Steps gets, the shorter the lead becomes. In the deep stretch, Steps finally surrenders to the competition. Comedrinkwithme pulls on by for the win, Steps hold on in a game second place finish as Paddy Whacker and Raiders Bart contend for the rest. (2-6-3-5)
