Mix of the Old and the New on Sunday!

Puppy power shines early on and a couple of veterans got back on track in the later stages of the card.

Up first was another impressive youngster from the Lester Raines Kennel. Never Can Tell is from an exciting litter and even though it was just a maiden victory, she did it in a big way. She bolted straight to the early lead and left the field in the dust by 7 lengths as she posted up a comparable grade A time in the process at 30.95 seconds.

Not to be outdone Skiddy Button from the Pat Collins Kennel showed that she has some chops as well. Similar to her young counterpart, she beat the box too and took early command of this grade A effort. Holding tough thruout, no one gained on her and she coasted to the easy victory in 30.82 seconds for her first grade A win.

The veterans got their chance later as Dirty Picture closed from way, way, way off the pace to drive home to the slim win in the 11th race. Big effort from this greyhound and the outside post had much to do with this win today! Coming from 6th at the far turn to win by 2 lengths, no that is tremendous.

Saving the best for last, in the 15th race Hallo Triple A finally woke up. In the lead this greyhound is tough and that is just where he found himself in the early stages. He rushed best to the 1st turn and never looked back. He continued to build his lead thruout and was 6.5 lengths better than the rest of the field at the finish line.

Easy Play Saturday at Orange Park!

Well they might have left the stakes rounds, but they should have been easy winners back against the grade A and lower competition on Saturday.

Tk Capitan, the littermate to Quick Strike, was up first in the 11th race in the matinee at won at 5-1.

In the evening, Jeans Winningboy coasted to victory in the 7th and so did Kb's Next Level in the 12th both at 3-1.

Kudos also goes out to the pair of impressive pups from the red hot Lester Raines Kennel. These two were just a couple of the 7 wins they produced on the day.

Fay's Mcqueen finally got to grade A and made the most of her first effort up there. She posted up an impressive box to wire win in 30.56 and stretched her win streak to 3 in a row.

Not to be outdone by by his brother Fay's Fonda also posted up a big effort. He too rushed to early control of his grade B race and crossed the best by 5.5 lengths in 30.64 seconds.

Other winners Tailwagon, Cjc's Knock Out, Fisch N Chips, Uss Race Air, and the aformentioned Kb's Next Level.

What a Great Evening of Racing!

There might have only been 4 stakes races on the card, but there were sure exciting to watch.

Big plus for the favorites as Ru Tuff Enuf turned inthe best effort with a 30.36 second run. He was long gone early on and won by 6 easy lengths.

Count Ivan was right there too, nice to see the big dogs back in form, everyone knows the 8 box helps, but he did most of the heavy lifting himself. He was almost the best on the card as his win came in 30.37 seconds.

Cjc's Buckshot continued to impress as he stayed undefeated, just like Ivan, thru three rounds of the stakes. He has been breaking closer and that has really made the difference for him. His backstretch run last night was tremendous as he took command at the far turn and extended his lead coming home for yet another win!

The other race was the upset special of the evening. The resurging Topaz Hanna hit the lid and was off to the races on the front end. Kiowa Deli Davis did make it interesting though, as he missed by just a neck at the wire.

Don't forget the semi-finals run on Monday night. the field will be cut down to 3 great races and the undefeated greyhounds will both have a chance to get to the finals unscathed.

Even if you don't win, we have some other specials for you to enjoy. $1.50 Draft Beers and Margaritas for everyone and a stakes finals featuring the best greyhounds on the circuit.

Mark your calendars and make sure you are at the Orange Park Kennel Club on Saturday Evening September 5th.

Look Who's BACK!

Talk about leaving no doubt to the question of how you are. La's Lucy made a big statement in the first schooling race for Thursday evening.

For a closer to break that close, outstanding, and once in front, see you by so long! Long, long gone as she cruised to a 5 length victory in 30.67 which was the fastest time in schooling and the entire rest of the card.

Look for her wagering appearance in the upcoming week or so.

Tha handicapping contest went great too as 262 people jumped at the chance for a shot at $500, but many hopes and dreams were dashed in the first race and the two favorites of the crowd ran into each other and finished out of the money. 220 were gone heading into the 4th race and at by the 7th only 3 were left. All went out after the running, but all were winners in the long run. With a tie, one person won $500 and the other two received $25.

Props also go out to the puppy Charmurpants off for his first grade A in his race for adoption effort. Process from this greyhound benefit Teddy Palmers Halfway Home Adoption program. Congrats on the win and thanks to Sharon & DQ Williams from showing once again what kind of class people that they are.

Tomorrow is the Quarter-Finals of the Sunshine state silver cup and besides the first race, the other three are almost stakes finals themselves.

Tons of talent all matching up and trying for the top points.

It really should be something to watch.

Set the date of the finals, SEPT 5th, Pick the winner of the stakes and you too could win $500.

You never know, it's free money, what is better than that??
