12 Races of Christmas & Holiday Hot Box

Saturday - 12/12/2009

What at great night Saturday evening, December 12th, will be at the Orange Park Kennel Club. Not only will we be having a great promotion and giving away a ton of prizes and cash, we also will have a great greyhound race to watch and bet on.

In our twelve races of Christmas promotion everyone 18 and older will have a chance to win some great stuff at the Orange Park Kennel Club. Just fill out the form, place it in the bin, and channel some holiday spirit and luck from the jolly old man himself.

Announcer Joe "Ho, Ho, Ho" Ross will be poised and ready to go as we will draw 36 lucky winners throughout the evening. After races two thru thirteen, three lucky winners names will be drawn and then they will get a chance to pick a present under the tree. Each one is filled with a card stating the prizes that they have won.

Prizes include several electronic items (Blu-Ray Players, Digital Cameras, Ipods, etc.), Gift Cards to retailers and restaurants, and the almighty greenbacks, cold hard cash!

This alone would be a great reason to come on out and join on, but wait, there is more! Out Holiday Hot-Box feature runs in the 11th, and trust me when I say, this is as good of a race as any stakes final!

Loads of talent throughout the ranks of these eight greyhounds. Including stakes winners, stakes competitors, red hot greyhounds, new risers and old veterans. This is going to be quite a race to watch as all eight have at least 2 grade A wins in their last six efforts, six of the eight have a win in their last trip around the oval, and half the field has three or more wins showing on the page. So without further ado, let's get into it.

1. Uss Fine Touch (Uss Raceway - Uss Glimmer) the runner up in the recent finals of the 2009 Jacksonville Juvenile, this greyhound is a puppy no more. He has been competing and winning grade A's for a while now and gets another shot at a victory from a great post position. He will need to get out in a hurry tonight if she is going to run with the big boys and girls. She has won 3 of her last 6 races, all in the stakes, and was the leader in points heading to that final.

2. Rays Balto (My Judge - Ivyona Star) is the hottest greyhound at the racetrack right now over 550 yards. He has been breaking extremely well and making minced meat out of the competition in the process. With two wins in a row and five in his last six races, you see my point, but the exclamation could be made even louder from the inside post. He loves to break from here and has never lost at Orange Park from inside of the 3 hole!

3. Wp's Rainbow (Maryville Rumble* - Icu Greta) was the recent winner of the 2009 Jacksonville Juvenile at 13-1. This girl has really come into her own recently and is riding high on a cloud into this effort. The 30.37 clocking in the finals was a career best and now finally back in grade A, she is going to have to keep up the good work if she hopes at winning this very tough race. Mommy is proud of her, the kennel is stoked, now let's see if she can do it again.

4. Kiowa Smedley (Dodgem By Design - Kiowa Heavenly) is a much better talent than his lines show. When he first arrived from Mardi Gras he took to the racetrack and really started putting up some impressive numbers. Then he fell into a bit of a slump, but now seems to be reversing that trend in his last couple of races. He has been breaking better and using his late speed to not only contend, but to win races. No problems with the midtrack post for him and if the speed falters, everyone better watch out at the finish line.

5. Dirty Picture (Coldwater Konow - Chance With Me) is not the flashy DQ Williams greyhound, but he is one that posses all that they stand for on the racetrack. A good hard trying closer that never gives up in any start. That sums it up! He too has been on fire as of late. Winning three efforts and finishing in the money in 6 races in a row, he is probably on the best stretch of his career right now. Mistrack is where he lives too, but the rail might have been a bit more positive for him at the start of this race. If he gets around close, it could be very interesting late.

6. La's Anthony (Dustin The Way - La's Felisha) is out of a pair of grade A runners here at the Orange Park Kennel Club and the traits have passed down the DNA chain. Anthony is a perennial competitor in stakes finals, and even though he has yet to win one, he has been a factor in almost all of his final round appearances. The tough spot for him here is the post. He is all rail all the time and when he in red, he is extremely tough, but this is the 6 box. He has had success from here in the past, but he will need to break in order to contend tonight.

7. Hallo Mitch (Flying Penske - Sol Sassy) is probably the other best greyhound at the racetrack right now. He has won four of six and ten of his last fifteen races. He has been coming out of the box in a hurry and that has led to some pretty tremendous victories. In those wins, he has flirted with the track record on a couple of occasions, missing by just a lengths in one of those starts. From the inside or the outside he is dangerous and if he does make the lead, the race tonight will be for place.

8. Kb's Next Level (Dodgem By Design - Bf Pina) is a great running greyhound on the lead and recently that is just where she has been at the start of the race. Winning back to back races in box to wire fashion, Next Level is on a roll and looks to keep it going in this effort tonight. Posted up well here away from the crowd, she could just hit the lid and prove to be a major force once again tonight. Without the front she has been suspect in the past, so she will need to be on top of her game in this one.

The way I see this very tough race is for Hallo Mitch to come out running. This greyhound is a monster on the front end and with the outside post, he should have some room to run early on. He will rush to early control tonight and maintain throughout for the win. Chasing him the entire way will be Rays Balto. Another strong competitor, but just not enough early speed to take Mitch out of his game on the lead. If they both decide to go to the turn together, this is going to be a match-up for the ages. A knock-down, drag-out, battle royal for the win. Uss Fine Touch should also get a piece of this pie. She is posted up well on the inside and has enough early, and raw, speed to go with the leaders from the box all the way to the finish line. Besides, she needs to make some sort of amends for getting run by in her last effort. Cleaning up the rest at the finish line for the final spot in the superfecta should be Dirty Picture. You know he will be closing fast and coming on strong to challenge late in this effort, just like he has done in his last 6 races in a row. I know the 5 box is not the rail, but all he has to do is run his race and he should be able to beat the rest to the finish line. Winning is a stretch here, but in the money is not.

With all this fun and excitement going on, you would be crazy not to come on out to the Orange Park Kennel Club and get in on the prizes, cash, and world class greyhound racing on Saturday evening December 12.

Be a part of the action at the Orange Park Kennel Club.
